I finally got around to posting some pictures of my hike at Malibu Creek State Park. A good friend of mine told me that there were some great hiking spots up there so I grabbed my brother, his finance, and John for a chance to get out of town to see something new! The hike itself was only about 3 miles round trip but there was a beautiful hidden Rock Pool and a bridge that we took pictures on. It's always refreshing to get out of Orange County to check out the rest of California.

Sometimes you just need to get away from it all and redirect all the attention to focus on yourself and what you want. I wouldn't be able to count how many times I put my own time and things aside to help others around me only to come back and realized I haven't completed anything for myself. I think growing up is about having the balance between the two.

Adele's VMA 2011 Performance

This song gives me the chills every time. I love how simple she is. Just a simple black dress and a piano with a powerful message. It would be nice if her nails weren't so out there though,a bit distracting in my opinion.
